Ships via Freight
What does “Ships via Freight” mean?
Any time you see this symbol (put symbol here) it means that this item, due to its size, must be delivered via an LTL (Less than Load) Freight Carrier.
When can I expect delivery of a freight order?
Normally freight orders are delivered within 3 to 7 business days.
What is the difference between business and calendar days?
Business days are calculated Monday through Friday excluding holidays and weekends. Calendar days are calculated Monday through Sunday including holidays.
Are there any special requirements for Freight orders?
Yes.
- All freight orders require an appointment with the carrier to deliver your order. This means that we must have accurate and valid contact information (i.e., email address, phone number(s), and physical address) along with an alternate phone number.
- All freight orders are only delivered within the 48 contiguous states. We do not deliver any freight orders to PO BOX, APO, International addresses, Alaska, Hawaii, or U.S. Territories.
- The freight company cannot deliver an order without someone 18 years or older signing for the bill of lading.
- Before you accept delivery of your freight order(s) and before you sign the bill of lading please make sure to inspect the item(s) to make sure it is not damaged. If it is damaged do not sign the bill of lading and reject the item(s). Only reject the item(s) that is damaged and not the whole order if it has multiple items or you can note the damages in remarks section of the BOL/POD then sign the POD as proof that damaged goods are received
- Tracking numbers are usually sent within one to two business days after you submitted your order. If you do not receive a tracking number after 4 business days please call us at (631) 729-8182 or email us at cs@theautopartsshop.com.
- If you do not receive your order after 10 business days call us at (631) 729-8182 or email us at cs@theautopartsshop.com.
What happens if I miss my appointment?
All item(s) that are delivered with an LTL freight carrier require an appointment to be scheduled. The delivery partner will call you to arrange a date and 4-hour appointment window once your item(s) arrives at the local terminal. The LTL freight carrier will not leave any item(s) at the delivery address without a signature. Further, if you miss your appointment window the freight carrier will not attempt another delivery and you will be charged a return fee of $150.
Please make sure you review your order confirmation email to make sure we have your correct phone number plus an alternate phone number along with your correct address. If any of these numbers are incorrect or your delivery is incorrect please contact us immediately to update the correct information.
How can I cancel my freight order?
We cannot cancel a freight order that has already been processed.
However, you can coordinate return shipping but it is your responsibility. If you receive a damaged item(s) or wrong item(s) and it was Theautopartsshop’s error then we will send you a return shipping label.
